W1D1 Explorers

Today we have find/or Choose 10 foods to go around the world in a Wa'a Kaulua. For my 10 food items I will chose:

• Canned Tuna
• White Rice
• Canned Spaghetti
• Sugar
• Soft Grains
• Hard Candy 
• Salt
• Powdered Milk
• Canned Beans
• Dry Pasta

That is what food I would take, Because it last long and we should have some heating equipment so we can make fresh water. They also last long when they aren't opened or when water touches them. 

What we learnt in geometry

In geometry we learnt many shapes, and other things like enlargement and rotation, etc. We also learnt the difference between 3 dimensional shapes(3D) and 2 dimensional shapes(2D). most of the other kids in our class did not know what a pentagon was,Do you know? We used a net to make a shape here i'll show you.

  Here's another question, what do you call a shape with 32 sides/faces. 

Christmas

 These past few days we have been learning about christmas in different countries, like france and america including our country.

Miranda Hot Pools

It was a fun time because we were able to relax and play.
some of the time I just sat down on a chair because I was burning hot!
the pillow was cool and wet, it was fun to jump on but tiring.
The food was amazing! we got ice blocks and fish and chips it was tasty. 

Experimenting with concrete by Amelia and Dante

We are learning how to make concrete, how to observe and to experiment.
Next time I would like to try and make the top of the concrete smooth, I would also like to make the sides way more smoother.

Modifying an image

WALHT modify an image for reuse.
Using polyline to change the colour in a shape.
I found it tricky because, if you double click or click close the other line the whole entire line stops.
next time i will try something more hard.

LAD: Learning About Dialogue

We are learning about dialogue, so we can use it in our stories.
I found it tricky because first I didn't know what dialogue was.
Next time I would like to watch more videos about dialogue. 

Maori language week - Ta Moko

1. Looked at pictures of ngā To Moko.
2. Looked at the meaning in the Ta Moko patterns.
3. Traditionally Ta Moko was made with a chisel.
4. Ta Moko starts out small and grows. The females usually only have their chin done.
5. Painting a mask with skin colour, or close to it.

1. Drew on our Ta Moko onto our mask with vivid.

Writing sample

“On your marks, get set, GO!” Mrs Castle shouted as she slap the clappers together.

I can do it keep on running. I thought to myself, I can do it.

“Few I have reached the fancy seven letter box,” I said.

I need to get passed Jayden, I can do it keep on running. I chanted to myself. But out the corner of my eye I saw something with dark green and grey scales. At first I thought it was a leaf. So I chanted to myself.

“Keep on running, keep on running, keep on running running running…”

I saw green again, out the corner of my eye but it had four legs and a long tail.

“Ahh crocodile!” I yelled.

It got closer and I saw it was smaller than a crocodile, it’s hard to explain it looked like a lizard. But it’s bigger than a lizard, I realised it was chasing me.

“Oh no, Mount Everest, aargh.” I said as I passed Mrs Mundy. While I was trying my best to run up the hill and round the court.

Finally I was on the field and the animal was so close to me. I jumped up a tree. “Call the Auckland Zoo!” I shouted. “ A komodo dragon!”

Maths, Thinking double double double

We are learning how to think double double double.

I found it easy because we just needed to 2x three times.

Next time I would like to do different strategy's.

Building for the future

We are learning about safer houses that we can build in the future.

I found it tricky because there is a construction site at school.

next time I would like to know how to reinforce the house.

We are learning about exotic animals.

I found it hard because I don't know much about them.

Next time I would like to do a different animal.

We are learning about Native Animals in New Zealand.

I found it kind of hard because I don't know to much about them.

Red Hill School New Uniform

We are learning how to be respectful of our new uniform.
I found it easy because all we needed to do is listen.
Next time I would like to have more fun

I found it easy because we could zoom in on the pictures.

I am learning to ask thing in Te Reo.
I fond it easy because we just were talking about it before.
Next time I would like to learn how to say. Are you okay.

I found scratching the patterns hard because I was worried I would go through the clay.

Cook island language week!!!

We are learning how to speak Cook island
I found it hard because its a new language for me.
Next time I would like more time to practise.
